Dayna: Historical Fiction
Jon: Anything zombie-related
Which novel made you fall in love with literature?
Dayna: I fell in love with reading at a young age, but some titles that stick out are the Catwings series by Ursula K. Le Guin, The Spell of the Sorcerer’s Skull by John Bellairs, and Time Windows by Kathryn Reiss.
Jon: Breaking down literary classics in high school was so much fun that I decided to do it for a living. To Kill a Mockingbird, The Heart of Darkness, and Of Mice and Men all stand out as incredible books from high school.
What book is on your TBR list or on your nightstand currently?
Dayna: The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune and The Evening and the Morning by Ken Follett
Jon: The Reapers Are the Angels by Alden Bell and Fable by Adrienne Young

Jon: Literally anything by Taylor Swift. Anything.
Jon is a high school English teacher, Magic the Gathering enthusiast, and Buccaneers fan. A native of Atascadero, California, Jon graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He enjoys thrillers and horrors, and world-building is his favorite part of writing. Jon is a the “pantser” of the duo – he likes to jump into stories and see where they go!
Dayna teaches fourth grade. When she isn’t writing, she’s reading historical fiction, gardening, or stewarding their family’s Little Free Library. Born and raised in Los Osos, California, Dayna graduated from San Francisco State University. Her favorite part of writing is developing character arcs and relationships. When writing, Dayna is the “plotter” of the pair – she likes detailed outlines and playing with permeating themes and symbols.
