Message from Dwight (the long version):
In 2018 our world was rocked when the doctors confirmed that Selah had cancer…
How is that possible? She had just turned three years old the week before…
Kids shouldn’t get cancer!
Over the last two years we spent much of our time engulfed in a world nobody should ever have to live in. Hundreds of hours in travel, treatment, and hospital stays. But day-by-day Selah continued to overcome all obstacles. With each treatment she grew stronger, even when it made her physically weaker. She was winning the battle. In doing so, she unknowingly gave hope to the people around her.
But that was not the reality for every student we had the honor of meeting.
We have cried with families around us.
We knew that we had to give back, but had no idea how.
In the background, Bixby had been waiting patiently for her time.
As Selah grew stronger, so too did the momentum of Bixby Timmons.
We knew immediately that the two would be forever entangled.
Thus, we started looking for ways to help get a copy of Bixby into the hands of every appropriate child we could, and we need help raising funds to for as large of a print run as we can get. Royalties earned from the drive will also be donated to THON to further help those when they need it the most.
We’ve already been vetted by media outlets such as the Record Herald, and interviewed by those such as Molly Shaffer. We’ve set up Facebook groups you can read and follow along with our story (links below).
Now, all we need is your donation so that Selah and Bixby can give students battling cancer a way to escape by giving them a story they can read and love.
