What’s the strangest thing anyone’s ever asked you?
My daughters usually have good ones like, ‘Daddy, do your boogers taste good like mine?”
What inspired you to become a writer?
My students and my wife. My students because they told me they craved something exciting, but realistic. My wife because she saw the desire to create in me before I even knew I was passionate about writing. Writing became the medium for me to do both.
Which novel made you fall in love with literature?
I remember the first book I fell in love with was in sixth grade when we, as a class read ‘Where the Red Fern Grows’. I chewed every fingernail I had off, trying to race to the end.
Which song do you ALWAYS blast in the car?
Lol I have kids, so right now, the current jam in my car a billion times over is Better When I’m Dancing by One Voice Children’s Choir which is a cover of Meghan Trainor’s Better When I’m Dancing.
