Began writing at age seven, so perhaps Sterling North’s “Rascal” (I was asked to read author galleys when I was about 11 or 12); Madeline L’Engle’s “A Wrinkle in Time” a few years later. Patricia Highsmith’s novels sparked my interest in psychological suspense; Virginia Woolf for literary fiction.
Favorite genre?
Psychological suspense to literary fiction
Favorite classic?
Herman Hesse’s “Steppenwolf,” Patricia Highsmith’s “Tom Ripley” series, Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist” (I know, a weird bunch!)

Kate Atkinson’s “One Good Turn” and Alex Dimitrov’s “Love and Other Poems”
What’s your writing routine?
I usually work from 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 pm, every day (sometimes a few hours less on weekends). This includes editing, correspondence, and promotional outreach in addition to writing.
